To coincide with the centenary of the first powered flight in the UK, this set of stamps celebrates the long-standing history of British Air Displays. Each stamp offers a visual narrative of its specific era, whilst reflecting a different aspect of the show, as they evolved over time.
Given the mix of archival shots, there is a montage of photographic styles. The first stamp dates from 1912 and progresses through to 2006. Colour is introduced to capture the spirit of the times. This is an compelling overview of 100 years of British Aviation.
